How to Get Here:

DRIVING:

You’ll find Bass Strait Maritime 1.3 km from the Devonport’s city centre, the traffic is typically very light, and the drive should take around 3 minutes.
Starting at the paranaple arts centre/Visitor Information Centre. Head north on Rooke Street towards Formby Road. At the roundabout, take the 2^nd exist for Victoria Parade.
Drive along Victoria Parade, towards the Devonport Bluff, turn left into Gloucester Avenue. (If you reach North Fenton Street, you’ve gone too far)

WALKING:

If you fancy a promenade along waterfront, there are beautiful, flat walking tracks through parklands with public sculptures, memorial walks, and stunning specimen trees.
The walk typically takes around 16 minutes from the paranaple arts centre/Visitor Information Centre.

Our mission is to be a source of knowledge, ideas, stories and memories. The Bass Strait Maritime Centre’s collection is a repository developed as a resource to inspire and educate the community and visitors. A key focus of the collection is to contribute to the interpretation and preservation of the history and maritime heritage of the Devonport region and its connection with the Bass Strait.
